Any group may offer 1 for 50 training: local churches, ministry organizations, denominational groups, networks, individual trainers. Some, however, may want to provide significant amounts of training to children’s leaders and will wish to list themselves as Training Providers.
What are the benefits of being listed as a 1 for 50 Training Provider?
1 for 50 Training Providers can…
List their 1 for 50 Training on the 1 for 50 website.
Use the 1 for 50 name and logo on promotional and training materials.
Network more effectively with others providing 1 for 50 Training in their region and around the world.
What is involved in being a 1 for 50 Training Provider?
Training Providers will .
Provide training that supports the vision of the 1 for 50 Hand.
Share information, resources, models and best practices that will help equip and encourage children’s ministry leaders around the world.
List dates and locations of 1 for 50 training events that are open to the public on the 1 for 50 website.
Tell stories of how many are being trained, of joys and challenges of training, and of the impact the training is making in the lives of children around the world.
Will we need to change our training programs?
Training Providers will not all use the same training material or conduct training in the same way. In fact, your children’s ministry training probably includes many elements of the 1 for 50 Hand already. However, for some, there may also be gaps.
1 for 50 Training Providers will honestly identify training gaps and seek to develop new training to fill those gaps or to direct children’s leaders to other providers for supplemental training.
An open source 1 for 50 CORE Training curriculum has been developed to help you fill training gaps. You may present it as written or adapt individual modules to complement your existing training. We also hope you will be willing to share some of your training material to help others fill gaps they may have.
What happens at a 1 for 50 training event?
Vision is Shared
To reach and disciple every child in a lasting way
Training is Given
Training should introduce all six areas of the 1 for 50 Hand and provide training that meets CORE goals in at least one area:
The heart of the leader
Nurturing the child
Reaching the unreached
Making disciples
Engaging families
Building the kingdom
Trainees should receive a 1 for 50 Personal Training Record for tracking their own training experiences. The hope is that leaders will get CORE training in all six areas, and pursue even more in the future!
Ongoing Support is Offered
Trainees should be invited to connect with other children’s ministry leaders and/or networks for ongoing encouragement, collaboration and resource sharing.
Trainees with Internet access will be invited to benefit from online information and resource-sharing opportunities.
